FOLLOW ME

In 1 Corinthians 11:1, The apostle Paul boldly states, “ Imitate me as I also imitate Christ.” When you first read this verse, it seems Paul is telling the Corinthians to be like him. You might ask Paul, “How can you say something like that? We need to imitate Jesus.” Paul knew he was a sinner saved by grace and wasn’t trying to take the glory from the Lord. Paul was instructing them to imitate his walk with Jesus. Paul was saying to follow him as he followed Christ.

As we look at our walk with the Lord, can we say the same thing? If other believers imitated you, what would our church look like? Would we be a loving church, a humble church? Would we be a church that cares for one another, a church that looks out for the needs of one another? Would we be a friendly church that wholly loves the Lord? Would we be a church with enough servants to cover the needs of the events and outreaches? Would we be a church that loves evangelizing and has compassion for the people? If any of these areas cause us to hold back in saying this statement, ask the Lord to change your heart. I pray we have the same testimony as Paul and that we can say boldly, “Imitate me as I imitate Christ.”

God bless you,
